Testimonials
Great experience. The resort is in between a plantation that is 53 acres in size. Of that, only 5 acres is devoted to the rooms and rest is untouched plantation of coffee and pepper. The food, the stay, the villa the rooms were top notch. A must visit place if you wish solemn solitude and oneness with nature . The staff is super supportive and there to help you at the drop of a hat. Special mention for Nitin, Uma and Keerthana for their help in making our stay a memorable one. And oh, the river through the property is a delight. My family and friends just didn't want to leave it though there was barely a flow.
The only concern er had - The property is situated on a hill and that means an absolutely steep 45 degree terrain greets you the moment you enter. With a car loaded to the brim with people and luggage, it was panting by the time it reached the top. Couple of spots, it felt like it was going to stop in between the climb and we would be rolling backwards for it won't muster the needed pick-up.. Horrible time navigating that terrain which you aren't prepared for at all
All in all, a great property but do go during rains or winters. I am sure the land would wield a different magic then.
This place has been on my bucket list for two years now. I wanted a vacation away from the city life, somewhere off the grid. I craved being one with nature again. My visit to Meriyanda had been overdue, yet felt not long enough. This is the nature lovers spot to be.
The retreat is within a coffee estate, the air fragrant with sweet coffee blossoms. I stayed at the Planters cottage and had amazing view into the wilderness.
The food is absolutely delicious with a variety of Coorg/Kodagu delicacies and popular dishes. The staff is very courteous, well informed, and really makes my stay a memorable one.
They offer river side tea service in the evening. Dipping my feet is cool flowing water, while sipping coffee was my favorite experience.
Next morning I went on a guided nature walk around the estate that is adorned with pepper, cardamom, and orange trees as well.
They have great spa and wellness services too. I wish I stayed longer to try more of them.
Overall, Meriyanda was just the place I needed to unwind and ground myself. A team that welcomed me into the heart of Kodagu, as I peacefully slept in hammocks, in this hidden gem of Hattihole.
Our stay at Meriyanda was the most memorable one. We stayed at the king’s villa with our entire family and it was a perfect holiday as all of us were under one roof since the villa had 2 rooms in it. The location atop the hill was like a dream. Full of breeze keeping you feeling refreshed all through. The ambience too was incredible. Awesome food and the most helpful and kind staff taking care of every minute detail to keep us comfortable. I would specially like to thank Mr.Nitin who was extremely helpful with his sight seeing tips and information on the local area and most importantly he was kind enough to organise a beautiful breakfast set up for us amidst the river which runs along the resort. That was once in a life time experience for the kids as well as us. Normally you might not get to experience something like that. So for us it was the best holiday 😍. Thanks to the entire team of Meriyanda
The resort is in the wilderness and you will feel relaxed the moment you step in the resort. Rooms are decent. Room 101 has a tendency to attract lizards unfortunately but otherwise all okay.. 🙂 Queen villa is big to accommodate family of 4 easily and very nicely maintained. Food is nice too, especially North Indian. Other cuisines could be improved but not deducting any marks for that.. just that the place is at a distance from major tourist attractions. Could certainly visit again.. thanks..
